Cervix Speculum
In an examination of the cervix, speculum is inserted to check for human papilloma virus or ASCUS conditions.
During an inspection, color (normally smooth pink epithelium), position, and nature of discharge are noted during this type of examination. Abnormalities such as retroversion, prolapsed uterus, ectropion, cancer, polyps, pus, or bleeding, inflammation, thickening, edematous, granularity, growths, and lacerations (traumas) may be observed.
In an examination of the cervix, speculum is inserted to check for human papilloma virus or ASCUS conditions.

Cervix Speculum -
Human Papilloma Virus, ASCUS
These tong-like instruments are used by medical practioners to examine the cervical tissue and vaginal wall. They are sized for ease of insertion into the vaginal orifice and maneuvered to permit view of the cervix while avoiding the more sensitive anterior wall and urethra. In an examination of the cervix, speculum is inserted to check for human papilloma virus or ASCUS conditions.
