Cervix Picture
A cervix picture may be taken when cervical cancer is suspected requiring a cone biopsy.
A colposcopy is when the doctor takes a tissue sample, or biopsy, and if they see any abnormalities, the sample is sent to a lab for further testing. The colposcopy is usually not uncomfortable, however, the tissue sampling or biopsy can be uncomfortable.

Cervix Picture -
Cervical Cancer, Cone Biopsy
The cervical area is not visible except through what is called a colposcope. This is a special scope that is inserted vaginally. It magnifies a view of the vaginal area. A colposcope is what allows the doctor to see patches of abnormal cell growth, or cervical dysplasia. A cervix picture may be taken when cervical cancer is suspected requiring a cone biopsy.
