Cervical Cancer Radiation
Cervical cancer radiation may be applied once malignancy is confirmed which may include colposcopy examination and cone biopsy pathology reports.
The FIGO system classifies this condition into four basic periods, labeled 0 through 4.
The 4th period is the most advanced. The tumor spreads to organs located near the cervix, such as the bladder or rectum and other parts of the body far from the cervix.

The lower the stage, the better the person’s prognosis. This condition is determined by information that is obtained through: biopsy and the pathology reports, cystoscopy, abdominal ultrasound, computer tomography, and magnetic resonance imaging. These methods determine the tumor’s size, depth of penetration, and spread within or beyond the cervix.
