Cancer Cervical Early Stage
Lesions may develop in a cancer cervical early stage to include genital condyloma, commonly referred to as a genital wart.
The next phases would progress to mild, moderate, or severe dysplasia, then carcinoma in situ, and finally the most severe, invasive carcinoma of the cervix. At the invasive point most doctors will recommend a radical hysterectomy, however, there is a 15-39% recurrence rate after surgery.

The best time to catch dysplasia, or carcinomas is through annual testing. Preliminary detection is key in eliminating dysplasia from becoming carcinoma in situ. The first phase of dyplasia of the cervix is usually ASCUS (atypical sqamous cells of undetermined significance.
